You don't have to become a member straight away. As with any club it is important that you find what we are about first. You don't need to be a member just to do the keep-fit sessions, however, if you intend to take part in any organised events then membership is required. A portion of this is set aside for insurance purposes and most of the remainder pays for the hire of our club house - a vital asset for the functioning of any club!
You don't need a fancy bike either! Cycling is as inexpensive or expensive as you like. Some of our member ride bikes which are at least 50 years old and still going strong. Others have lean and light machines, vital for shaving those further seconds of time trial times.
Don't be frightened, we won't ride off and leave you! Cyclists can be very fit people and well into their eighties, but we all have to start somewhere. Wherever your level of fitness is, it will improve almost immediately along with your enjoyment. Why not make it your new resolution? When on club runs we will never go faster than the slowest rider - is this music to you ears?
